Clay offers over 25 year’s oilfield experience, including an extensive tenure in coiled tubing service and drilling, completions and chemical applications. Clay was the senior manager responsible for Saudi Arabian operations for an international drilling company, underbalanced re-entry division. Clay served 8 years for a Canadian drilling & completions company responsible for over 120 employees and 18 coiled tubing completions units. Clay’s extensive Middle East management, chemical application and commercial experience is coupled with an extensive international network. Clay has built a solid foundation of experience and business acumen in the development and execution of strategic plans for growth orientated organizations.
Darren is a Chartered Professional Accountant (Alberta) and a Certified Public Account (Texas), and has over 19 years of public and industry accounting and finance experience. Darren began his professional career with KPMG in 1998 and was a Manager in their Advisory Services practice specializing in corporate restructuring and insolvency. He joined Saxon Energy Services Inc., an international land based drilling contractor, in 2005 and for the next 11 years held several corporate and field controller positions in Canada and the Unites States with regional and international oversight. Currently, Darren is the Corporate Controller for U.S. Legal Support, Inc. a litigation support services company based in Houston, Texas. Darren hails from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
Mr Phelps is the Managing Partner of Coronado Capital Partners, a specialty finance company focused on the oil and gas sector. He is also a Director of Hague and London Oil Company, an upstream company with assets in the Dutch North Sea. Mr. Phelps was a Co-founder, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Coastal Energy Company, which operated in the Gulf of Thailand, onshore Thailand, and offshore Malaysia before its sale to CEPSA (IPIC-Abu Dhabi) in January 2014 for $2.3 billion. Before that, Mr Phelps was Chief Financial Officer of NuCoastal Thailand, the predecessor company to Coastal. His early background in Oil & Gas was working for Citi as a senior member of the Energy Investment Banking Group, and prior to that the Leveraged Finance Group, where he advised on numerous M&A and financing transactions in the energy industry.
Don Getzlaf is a professional Engineer with more than 35 years of oilfield experience, specializing in cementing, well construction, chemistry and completions. Don has authored numerous papers on advancing materials and methods related to oilfield cementing and completions. Don also holds 37 patents and pending patents in these disciplines. Via global operational experience garnered by working in senior positions for both service operators (Halliburton) and E&P companies (Talisman & Nexen Energy), Don’s expertise and innovation is widely respected amongst industry veterans around the world. Don is a recipient of numerous industry recognized awards including “World Oils” “Global Completion Technology of the Year”, Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) “Completions Engineer of the Year” and an Alberta’s “Leader of Tomorrow” award to name a few. As founder and Chief Technology Officer of NCS, Don grew the company from a startup to an undisputed leader in multistage pinpoint stimulation. Don is instrumental in assisting Fluid Energy Group bringing to bear a world class knowledge and operational foundation that can only be garnered through a lifetime of industry experience.
Mick has more than 40 years of management and operating experience in the Oilfield Services sector. Throughout his career, Mick has been directly involved in the acquisition and integration of over 20 Oilfield Service companies. Previous to joining PillarFour as a managing partner, Mick was the CFO of Calfrac Well Services (‘13–‘16). Prior thereto, Mick served as CEO of Saxon Energy Services Inc. (‘09 –‘13) and as Senior VP and CFO (‘05–‘08). Mick also held a number of roles at Precision Drilling Corp (‘97 – ‘05), including Senior VP, Finance, and prior thereto VP Business Development. Mick started his career at Schlumberger where he worked in several roles over a period 18 years.
Mick is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Morgan has over 20 years of experience in the Oil & Gas and other industries. Prior to joining the Fluid Energy Group Ltd., Morgan was Lead Controller for Essential Coil and Stimulation Services (Technicoil Corporation division). During his 8 year tenure with Essential Energy Morgan was an integral part of the company’s management and leadership team. Prior thereto, Morgan was the Controller with the Great Northern Timber International group of companies. During his 5 years with GNTI, Morgan was instrumental in growing the business internationally with sales in Canada, USA, Japan and South Korea. Morgan began his career 23 years ago as a Controller with Slocan Group where he managed the accounting departments for three (3) business divisions. Morgan brings a wealth of international, hands on, accounting experience to the Fluid Energy Group team.
Mr. O’Donoghue’s 28 year career has provided him a wealth of experience in International business operations, manufacturing & supply chain management. With his results oriented leadership, Kevin brings his strong leadership skills to all facets of our business within our domestic and international operations. Kevin has held multiple operations manager roles with a multiple billion dollar international logistics company along with an international drilling company throughout Canada, USA, Mexico and Saudi Arabia where he developed, implemented and managed all logistics and supported operations.
As a cofounder of Fluid Energy Group, Kevin has been involved in all facets of our growth and success from the beginning. Additionally, along with his team Kevin has developed our “Triton Cleaning Products” line of offerings into >800 retail stores in North America along with developing multiple international distributors and developed relationships with multi-billion dollar global customers.
Chuck Vozniak has joined Fluid Energy Group with the primary mandate to support and augment Fluid’s technical and commercial growth, assist in planning and executing support for their customers. Mr. Vozniak brings more than 30 years of experience in Western Canada’s energy service sector, with extensive knowledge of hydraulic fracturing and well completions. Prior to joining Fluid, Mr. Vozniak was Vice President at Canyon Technical Services. His areas of responsibility included Engineering, Information Technology, QA/QC and Research and Development. Before Canyon he was at Trican Well Service Ltd. for 12 years.He held multiple positions including Technical Sales Representative, Sales Manager and Technical Services Manager.Before that he was with Canadian Fracmaster Ltd. from 1980 to 1999, where he worked in Operations, Sales and Engineering. He holds a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Calgary, a diploma in Chemical Technology from SAIT and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Stig has held leading management positions in the North Sea chemical oil service industry since 1990. Stavanger, Norway has served as his base for activities in the North Sea-Europe and for the international commercialization of his own scale dissolution chemicals company, DPI Chemicals, which was acquired in 2013. Stig grew up in Ghana and Saudi Arabia and returned to Norway at age 18 where he studied Bio-science/Aquaculture and business administration at university. Stig has held the positions of managing director, technical director and country manager for various international chemical companies and now VP of European Operations for Fluid Energy Group Ltd. Stig brings a breadth of chemical and application knowledge to Fluid that has been instrumental to its success in the North Sea and European market.
Mr. Stromquist brings a wealth of operational and executive experience from progressive companies with growth successes in both North America and internationally. He is skilled at evaluating, developing and exploiting new technologies including patent processes.
Mr. Stromquist currently serves as Chief Executive Officer & Director of NCS- Multistage, a privately held oil and gas service company, focusing on Multi stage completion strategies and Principal & Chief Executive Officer of Cemblend Systems Inc. a privately held oil and gas service and supply company, focusing on strategies around better hydraulic isolation for well construction. Mr. Stromquist, was Co-founder and Vice President Operations of Frac Source Inc., a private oil gas stimulation services company and previously served in management roles with a public (NYSE) oil and gas resource company and a public (NYSE) oil and gas services company. Mr. Stromquist is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers since 1987.
Mr. Cochlan is a partner at the law firm of Torys LLP, a highly respected international business law firm, and is co-head of Torys’ Calgary office and the firm’s Corporate and Capital Markets Practice. Mr. Cochlan practices securities and corporate law, with an emphasis on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Cochlan holds a law degree from the University of Calgary and a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario. Mr. Cochlan has received a number of recognitions as a leading lawyer in his practice areas and is recognized internationally as a leading Canadian corporate finance lawyer.
Steve is a certified engineering technologist (CET) bringing over 11 years’ experience in the pressure-pumping service sector. Beginning his career in the field with an international fracturing company and then progressed into the Calgary office joining the fracturing engineering team. Steve has held various in-house technical positions with major international E&P clients that transitioned into a sales position responsible for >$100M/yr. accounts. Steve is instrumental in maintaining and developing key local and international customer relationships, providing technical support and identifying opportunities for expansion as well as new applications for Fluids industry leading technology.
Mr. Sandilands has over 15 years’ experience in Supply Chain and Logistics Management in North America. He attended the Business school at the Queensland University of Technology majoring in Marketing. Mr. Sandilands began his Supply Chain career with one of Canada’s largest retail company’s Loblaw’s, where he became the Director of Transportation for Western Canada. Following Loblaw’s Mr. Sandilands joined Canadian Pacific Railway, where he held several management positions in the Logistics Solution group that specialize in multi-modal transportation solutions. Mike also founded Canalia Consulting providing Supply Chain consulting services prior to joining Fluid Energy Group building the foundation for Fluids logistics solutions. Mike has been instrumental in building Fluids industrial chemical sales division (Triton Cleaning Products). Mike brings a wealth of global logistical and marketing experience to Fluids team.
Markus has over 20 years of international research and development experience with renowned research facilities and diverse industrial fields. He holds a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Potsdam/Germany and executed his research work at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam/Germany. Markus has a profound working knowledge of the oil and gas industry encompassing fracturing, cementing, heavy oil recovery and chemistry. An active SPE member, Markus maintains a working knowledge of all applicable chemistry in Fluids industry.
During his last position Markus was the lead of a stimulation R&D group of an international Oil & Gas service provider. Markus has extensive experience in international commercialization of new completion and production chemistry working closely with engineering, marketing and sales. Markus brings substantial experience and technical support for sales and marketing, product development and IP generation. Markus has been a co-author on many oil and gas chemical patents.
Craig served in the military in the early 90’s before gaining 21 years of Oilfield experience in production, drilling and applied chemistry. Craig began his career in production operations eventually leading to a management role with Harvest Operations; a large E&P. Craig was responsible and accountable for a number of employees and contractors as well as multimillion dollar facilities and new build projects. Craig has spent the last 9 years of his career in the chemical industry specifically, expanding and applying his knowledge in corrosion, bacteria, paraffin and most importantly; stimulations. Craig’s knowledge and background is an asset in well servicing and production enhancement through producing and injection well optimizations. Gaining invaluable experience with a long tenure with Baker Hughes Craig brings a wide depth of operational experience to Fluids operations locally and internationally.
Kye has over 8 years’ oil field experience working in the stimulation and production chemical business, designing optimized frac chemical solutions including: crosslinked, hybrid, and slickwater fluid designs across the US in the SCOOP, STACK, MERGE, Permian, Delaware, Eagle Ford, Alpine High, Austin Chalk, Spraberry, Wolfcamp, and Powder River Basins. Starting out at FTS International as a QA/QC Chemist, he was able to standardize the operating procedures for several pieces of analytical laboratory equipment & procedures such as the ICP, XRD, XRF, Dynamic Scale Loop, Friction Flow Loop, and SEM. Kye later joined Independence Oilfield Chemicals as a Chemist, which was later acquired and quickly moved up the ranks in his new position to become a Technical Sales Advisor, providing detailed technical support programs for stimulation chemical fluid designs directly to operators and service companies while focusing on increasing profitability by introducing new chemical technologies. In early 2018, he became the Sr. Director of Technology for an Oklahoma based production chemical company in which he managed a team of chemists for technical service requests and new product development.
Kye has presented on several topics for SPE and is named on several patents for his work regarding friction reducers and borate crosslinked systems. Kye holds a B.S. in Chemistry with a Minor in Mathematics from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma and lives in Oklahoma City with his wife and two daughters.
Adrienne has over 10 years in analytical chemistry. Born and raised in Calgary, she has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in chemistry from the University of Calgary. Adrienne has operated, calibrated, and maintained various laboratory analytical instruments including: FTIR, gas chromatography, and ICP emission spectrometry. In addition, she has received training in ISO 17025 in Sacramento, California and has been heavily involved in developing the QA/QC program at each company she has been with. During her previous position, she worked alongside the stimulation R&D group of an international Oil & Gas service provider. Adrienne developed methods and evaluated products for fracturing and cementing applications and have coauthored a scientific publication for the Society of Petroleum Engineers in 2015.
Karl has over 10 years of experience in materials and analytical chemistry and research initiatives. Karl holds a Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry from the University of Calgary, and during his academic pursuits he gained experience in multiple disciplines including, but not limited to, pharmaceuticals, nanoscale pigments, and Metal-Organic hybrid materials. Karl began his career in the analytical and R&D group of an International Oil & Gas services provider focusing on novel cementing and ancillary technologies. He then transitioned to an internationally-recognized third-party testing laboratory where, in addition to handling client accounts and testing protocols, he oversaw the ISO 17025 QA/QC program, while overseeing a team of scientists and technicians. Throughout his career, Karl has also been the co-author of several peer-reviewed journal publications, as well as being a co-author of 5 patents. Karl’s breadth of experience will ensure Fluid continues to build on its world class portfolio of patents and expand its innovative product offerings and technical support structure.
Crystal has more than 14 years of experience in the accounting field, a majority of which within the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining Fluid Energy Group Ltd., Crystal was the Accounting Supervisor at an Alberta based corporation where she was responsible for managing the day to day accounting functions of multiple locations and divisions (domestic and international). Crystal was instrumental in many ERP restructuring efforts as well as assisting with the expansion of the company internationally. Crystal holds an accounting diploma, received from SAIT Polytechnic, Calgary. Crystal’s substantial domestic and international accounting, management and leadership experience is instrumental in managing Fluids aggressive growth and global adoption of its industry leading technology around the world.
Erik has over 17 years’ oil field experience and has been directly involved in acid stimulations of carbonate formations throughout his career, initially with Maersk Oil as a Well Stimulation Engineer, then Hess Corporation as Senior Operations Engineer, Denmark and currently supporting AkerBP North Sea operations. He has been directly involved in supporting offshore stimulation operations in Denmark, Norway, UK and Indonesia as well as on-shore in Kazakhstan and the USA. Throughout his 17+ years in oil & gas he has designed, supervised and analyzed many hundreds of acid treatments and supervised many additional functions, including but not limited to: Production Optimization; Offshore Field Development; QA/QC; Offshore Drilling Operations Management; Contract Oil Sales; Logistics Planning & Coordination; Large Offshore Seismic Campaigns; Production Chemistry Optimization; Completions Contracts Negotiations; TapRooT Investigations; Structural Design & Risks & LEAN Implementation.
Erik has a combined Experimental & Analytical background in High Energy Physics at the Niels Bohr Institute, Denmark and Brookhaven’s’ National Laboratory “Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider”, New York. Erik has co-authored several scientific papers within the Oil & Gas and Physics disciplines. Erik also serves as an external examiner “Chemical Engineering Department” at the Technical University of Denmark. In addition, Erik speaks 6 languages which will support Fluids diverse customer base throughout Europe. Erik holds a Masters of Physics from Copenhagen, Denmark.
Fluids onshore & offshore technical support department, managed by Erik and based in Copenhagen, Denmark will provide Fluids customers high level engineering support of its flagship Modified Acid™ Systems as they are deployed around the world in the most demanding & technically challenging jurisdictions.
Acting as Fluids “Strategic Advisory”, Darcy brings his substantial technical and business experience, market insight and global portfolio of contacts to bear to assist in the global adoption and education of industry with regards to Fluids technology. Darcy is the 2018 SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) President, and is the first Canadian to have been elected to this position.
He has served most recently on the SPE International Board as Regional Director for Canada; he is also a member of the Vancouver and Calgary SPE sections and has held officer positions in the Calgary, Illinois Basin, and Appalachian SPE sections. Darcy has an extensive background in natural gas, light oil and heavy oil segments of the industry. Darcy has also served with Schlumberger across North America in various segments of their respective operations.
In addition to the above, Darcy worked for the Columbia Natural Resources / Triana Energy group in the Appalachians, Atlantic Canada, and other international locations. He has also served as CEO of Contact Exploration and more recently as Head of Sales for Sanjel Corporation.
He also is the Chairman of the Board (independent) for Green Imaging Technology, the Global Technical Advisor for General Magnetic, and a director of MNP Petroleum. Mr. Spady holds a BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta.
