Clay Purdy / Chief Executive Office & Chairman
Clay brings more than 30 years’ industrial experience with an extensive tenure in the global energy sector. Clay was the senior country manager responsible for Saudi Arabian operations for an international company, underbalanced re-entry division. Clay also served many years for a Canadian completions company and was responsible for overseeing all field operations across western Canada. Clay’s extensive operational management, commercial and chemical experience is coupled with an extensive international network, having founded many companies throughout his career. Clay has a depth of experience and business acumen in the development and execution of strategic plans for international growth orientated organizations.
Mick McNulty, FCCA / Director
Michael (Mick) McNulty, FCCA, serves as an Independent Director of the company. Mr. McNulty is a Managing Partner at PillarFour Capital, a Calgary-based private equity firm which targets investments in Energy Technology Companies focused on reducing carbon intensity in the energy sector. Mr. McNulty also serves as a board member at Trican Well Services and was previously the Chairman of Strad Energy, which specializes in Industrial Matting and Equipment Rentals across Canada and the United States.
Mr. McNulty has more than 40 years of management and operating experience in the global oilfield services sector. He was Chief Financial Officer at Calfrac Well Services from 2013 to 2016 and prior to that he served as Chief Executive Officer of Saxon Energy Services (2009 –2013) and Chief Financial Officer (2005–2008). He held a number of roles at Precision Drilling (1997 – 2005), including VP, Finance and VP, Business Development. Mr. McNulty started his career at Schlumberger where he spent sixteen years including assignments in the UK, Africa and North America, before he joined Nowsco Well Services as Corporate Controller in Aberdeen and latterly in Calgary.
Mick is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Marty Stromquist / Director
Marty brings a wealth of operational and executive experience from progressive companies with growth successes in both North America and internationally. He is skilled at evaluating, developing and commercializing new technologies including patent processes.
Marty currently serves as Principal & Chief Executive Officer of Cemblend Systems Inc., a privately held oil and gas service and supply company, focusing on strategies around better hydraulic isolation for well construction. Marty was co-founder and Vice President Operations of Frac Source Inc., a private oil gas stimulation services company and previously served in management roles with a public (NYSE) oil and gas resource company and a public (NYSE) oil and gas services company. Marty has been a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers since 1987.
Scott Cochlan / Director
Scott is a partner at the law firm of Torys LLP, a highly respected international business law firm, and is co-head of Torys’ Calgary office and the firm’s Corporate and Capital Markets Practice. Scott practices securities and corporate law, with an emphasis on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. He holds a law degree from the University of Calgary and a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario. Scott has received a number of recognitions as a leading lawyer in his practice areas and is recognized internationally as a leading Canadian corporate finance lawyer.
John Oliver / Director
John has more than 40 years of management and operating experience in international business. He has lived and worked in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, the United States and Latin America. During this time, he developed an extensive technical, sales and marketing and managerial background in these markets. John has had various positions including Director of New Technology Innovation and Introduction, Global Segment Vice president and Global Sales and Marketing Manager. John spent 5 years in Brazil overseeing a business across Latin America with revenues in excess of 1 billion U.S. dollars. John also ran Prince Energy for 4 years before retiring in 2018. Mr. Oliver currently advises for a major private equity firm in Houston as well as serving on the Board of Directors of two U.S. based companies.
