HCR-7000-WL Concentration by Titration - Calculator Instructions
-
Add 2 mL of HCR into a flask. If different, record the value in the value field of Volume of HCR Sample (mL).
-
Measure density of HCR and record the value in the value field of Density of HCR (g/mL)
-
Add 20 mL of distilled water into the flask
-
Add 5 drops of pH indicator (typically methyl orange or phenolphthalein) into the flask
-
Swirl contents of flask
-
Fill a syringe with 10 mL of 1 mol/L NaOH solution. If concentration of NaOH is different then input the actual concentration in the value field of Concentration of NaOH
-
Slowly add the NaOH dropwise to the flask while continuously swirling using a burette or syringe until a permanent color change is observed.
-
Record the volume of NaOH used in the value field of Volume of NaOH (mL)
-
The calculated value in % HCR is the estimated concentration of the HCR sample.
